My bottle is difficult to drink from. What should I do?Updated 9 days ago
The bottle filter contains a dense block of filtration material. As you draw water up through the straw, the filter will cause some restriction in the flow of water. It shouldn't be any more difficult than drinking a thick milkshake.
If you are finding it more difficult to drink than a milkshake, please complete the following steps:
1. Confirm your filter is securely attached to the wingnut adapter and there are no splits or cracks on the straw.
2. Soak the bottle filter for 1-3 hours in room temperature or cold water, making sure it is fully submerged. The extra soak will allow the filtration media to become fully saturated and should efficiently prime your filter and allow water to flow through the filter.
.
If it is particularly difficult to draw through the filter, we recommend unscrewing the filter and drinking water through the straw by itself. That will help us determine if something in the straw is preventing water from passing smoothly.
