My filter is fast. How long should it take for water to pass through my filter?
A properly working filter can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 35 minutes to pass a full top reservoir of water. The filter has two main parts: an extremely dense, thick, bowl-shaped material and a loose material that sits in it. No matter what, your unfiltered water has to pass through both components. As it does, the dense material and loose material will slow the passage of water to at least five minutes. At that speed, our test results show that the filter is properly removing contaminants.
If your filter is passing a full top reservoir of water (almost ½ gallon) more quickly than that, please contact our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
